Fishing with Electronics

Friday, March 5th, 2010

Ever seen electronic devices on the boat to help locate fish? That tool is called a fish finder; an electronic device that locates fish in the vicinity like a global positioning system (GPS) locates places. Why are portable fish finders so valuable? They can determine whether or not the fish could bite in the vicinity an angler is fishing at. Fishing at the dock, lakes, and bays can require patience to determine if fish will bite because sometimes fish are just not in the area despite using good fishing technique and bait. A portable fish finder also can determine the size of the fish that is displayed on the fish finder screen.

Are there any good portable fish finders on the market?

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

I take my son fishing to a couple of lakes and, because I don’t own a boat, I always rent one for the day.
Do you know if there are portable fish finders that can readily attach to a rented 4 person aluminum boat?
If so, where can I buy one.
Any help will be appreciated.

That would make some think using a motorboat to travel around the lake or sea is what I am referring to. What I am referring to is a portable fish finder, a tool I came across when I was fishing in a lake cabin. A portable fish finder is a tool used to locate fish in lakes and bays. Finding fish becomes easier because guessing games are normally played when anglers are not sure where fish could be spotted. When fishing at a family friend’s lake cabin, finding where fish may bite was possible with a portable fish finder, making it easier to catch fish, now it all came down to if the fish would bite.
