This is a in line fuse holder http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2102784&cp=2032058.2032234.2032302&parentPage=family , but make sure you only use a 2 amp fuse, would be surprised if it says any thing bigger in the installation instructions.
For connecting the wires I suggest you use 18 GAUGE WIRE THROUGH 22 GAUGE WIRE 100% INSULATED BUTT CRIMP CONNECTOR WITH HEAT SHRINKABLE TUBING which look like this http://www.electronicplus.com/images/products/SS-11.jpg

Put your inline fuse holder where it will be easy to get to and close to the fish finder. Strip about 1/8 off the wires and then slide tne butt connectors on and crimp them, do both wires ( two wires with each butt connector) then use a lighter and very lightly heat the connector and the plastic will shrink to form a nice tight bond.

The inline fuse will go on the red wired (hot or power supply )
black is the ground and does not get fused, but needs to be connected to a ground sorce perferable the battery for both wires. Red wire goes to the possitive side and the black to ground on the battery.

The fuse holder and the butt connectors can be found at any automotive store.
    Good Luck
