In May, when one go northern pike fishing the pikes move into shallow waters to spawn. It is now pikes are at their heaviest, and now the really big ones are at the easiest to get in touch with. A large female pike 22 lb or more may have as much as 2,2 – 4,4 lb of eggs. We recommend that the big pikes must be released to maintain a sustainable high pike stock.
